Section Title
Matthew 21:13 “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” A healthy church must teach, preach, equip for, and practice fervent prayer. We desire to teach, inspire, motivate, challenge, and encourage each member of the body of Christ to pray and grow in their relationship with God daily. Anyone who believes that God answers prayer, but doesn’t pray, is unwise.
We believe the Bible is the final and complete revelation from God to mankind. It is the perfect word of God, that does not change to accommodate the times or people’s emotional preferences. It guides us like a roadmap for all that we believe, do, and say as a church. It is also a love letter from God that leads to salvation in Christ alone. It is our standard and only source of absolute truth.
God was the original “seeker” when He sent His Son, Jesus, to offer salvation to all mankind by the shedding of his blood on a cross. One of the ways we seek God is by seeking others for Jesus. God has given us a commission and a vision to reach the people of Cullman, Alabama, our surrounding communities, and the entire world with the saving message of Jesus Christ through His death, burial, and resurrection. The vision God had given the church must be cast, pursued, and fulfilled through God’s abundant grace.
Of all the commands in the Bible, Jesus said that loving God and loving others are the two most important. (Mark 12:30-31) Love is a fundamental characteristic of who God is and it’s a value that exists in His followers as well. Our commitment is to Love God, Love People, and in doing so, Change the World. A healthy church has a desire to love in real and practical ways, such as being patient, encouraging, meek, prayerful, hospitable, and forgiving of each other. When we do this, non-Christians are encouraged to believe and Christians in our fellowship are built up. For this we give thanks to God! "We love Him because He first loved us." – 1 John 4:19
We believe the Great Commission is at the heart of God’s work in the world. We believe that the command to go into all the world means "as you go into the world." Our goal is to cultivate a heart for evangelism so that it causes our ministries, strategies, and resources to be used to find fulfillment in Christian service as the world is impacted by the message of salvation. Acts 1:8 describes the church’s empowerment to fulfill the Great Commission locally, nationally, and internationally. We value, invest, and support evangelism at every level—from our children’s ministry to our seniors’ ministry—in order to to develop the next generation at Cullman.
Come See The Difference
Cullman Church of Christ is a church that loves all people. We will love you if you are weary, discouraged, angry, poor, rich, confused, doubting, messy, or questioning. Maybe you came from a Christian home or never heard the gospel; whoever you are, you are welcome and loved here! The most loving thing we can do is to introduce people to Jesus because we believe he gives our lives ultimate meaning and purpose! Jesus helps the overwhelmed become accomplished, the confused find clarity, the seekers find purpose, the empty to become full, and the guilty find forgiveness. All through the good news about who he is and what he has done is doing and will do. We are a Church that welcomes and loves all people because we are a church made up of all kinds of people, all of whom have been shown Christ's love. We have been changed, we are in the middle of being changed, and one day will be ultimately like Jesus.
We see that Jesus fully and finally changes everything with His gospel. We are excited about all the small ways Jesus works in our midst to move us. We would love for you to come alongside us and join this journey to show the Cullman community that we believe Jesus changes everything. We are eager to begin the conversation by visiting or reaching out to Steve.
